Monogel
Monogel was simply an after work activity when it first started – but the band has become one of the most exciting new acts in Hong Kong in 2006.
Members of Monogel all came from different bands. It was the time when their bands had just released their albums, and they all needed a break through their music. It was also a time when all of them were single, with a lot of time on their hands.
The influences of Monogel came from the vintage school of rock like The Strokes, The Killers, The Jets, The Vines, Franz Ferdinand and such. The direction of Monogel's music goes along the principles of it being self-amusing, zero thinking, and cool styling.
It's a fun project, but it's also a seriously productive project nonetheless. The first batch of Monogel's compositions were written within the first two months of the band's formation, including their debut album's title tracks "Harder" and "Babe".
Monogel will release their debut album "Harder Babe" in May 2006, with nine original compositions, which chronicle the musical journey of Monogel over the past two years.
